Sayounara INTEC....

Assalamualaikum 今晩は.....

Haha...aku daftar di intec 24 mei....keluar intec 24 september....maka genap 4 bulan aku menghabiskan pelajaran nihongo(basic) di tempat ni...setelah belajar slama 1 sem brsama student diploma jpa...

banyak gkla knangan kt intec ni...wlaupn xsama dgn blaja kt sni slama 1 atau 2 thun...sbb kte org brempat yg sibuk nk join program ko-pln yg memg khas utk student yg blaja lama2 kt sni(1-2 tahun)...wlaupun course kteorg mmg among yg pling kejap kt intec...

wlaupun myibukkan diri(rse nk kate 'ter'sibukkan diri)...tp dr ko-pln tu scara xlgsg dpt rapat ngan student diploma jpa(dikenali program ktj, pnjgnya kumpulan teknikal jepun)...boleh nk kata...susah gk nk rapat ngan dorg tanpa program2 cmni....

kebetulan bbrapa mggu after msuk intec....hep(hal ehwal pelajar) intec ada wat program i-Prokhas utk student korea, jepun n rusia...n smmangnya program islamik krana kteorg diajar cara2 mguruskan diri sblm n slpas brada kt luar negara + pemantapan rohani cm qiamullail(aku pn dtg lmbt)...lg2 diconduct oleh para2 ustaz n ustzah yg diketuai ustaz rida....skli lg dpt bina ukhwah prsahabatan dgn program ktj mhupun lain2...n mgejutkan group aku jd overall champion lak mse tuh (tgokla spe ktua?? =p)

tp klimaksnya adalah bila program ktj jd champion dlm marching competition pd malam inpro...xsgka dpt gk jd champion stelah berpanas dgn mmbawa obor api....mmg brbaloi la usaha 2 mggu....wlaupun dpt kutukan n herdikan(sdihnya) dr senpai2 yg mrendah2kan kohai2 yg smmagnya rndah(dr segi umur!)...namun prkataan champion + hamper yg besor gedabak tuh mnyebabkan senpai trpaksa menelan blik kata2 pahit tuh..(mnde aku mrepek nih)

salah satu untungnya blajar kat intec ni adalah dpt bina satu friends networking yg luas....yelah brmcm2 program mcm alm, ausmat, adfp, ktj, korea, jepun, rusia, alg, aluk n brmcm2 lg....jd bleh dpat knalan yg akan blajar di serata dunia...wlaupun duk cme 3-4 bulan je...smpat gk la knal senior yg bru fly ke amerika bulan 8 lpas...ada yg bru fly sblm raya ke ireland...+ budak middle east program(mep) yg g mesir n jordan, jmpe gak ex-semesti (fadzil) yg dh fly ke india...jd mrupakan 1 kelebihan utk study kt intec compare to study mne2 pre-u kt tmpat lain....

tp yg jd masalahnye bila da brmcm2 program....kdg2 program sbelah kelas sorg pun xknl...mcm klas ktj ; sbelah kiri klas a-level german, sblah kanan klas rusia, bwah tingkat 2 klas korea...pstu nun jauh sket adfp,dkat2 plk klas mep...jd bila jepun sbut "ohaiyou" dgar jugak brmacm2 bhasa dr serata blok....ini bukan 1malaysia...blok U kt intec tu jd mcm 1dunia lak...

skrg citer psl juugyou(lecture) lak...smmgnya sgt seronok wktu klas...especially wktu blaja nihongo...krana cra dorg ajar especially nihonjin...sgt komited n dorg akan beri yg trbaik utk pstikan student dorg bnar2 fhm...byangkan mereka sggup dtg krja seawal 7.30 pg n blik pkul 6 lbih stiap hari...n stiap klas mreka klihatan bgitu brtenaga n brsmagat...+ sgt pentingkan masa..."anda akan dipandang seorg yg sgt teruk sekiranya anda tidak menepati masa wlaupun 1 saat"..tu prinsip org jepun....

smue sensei....kamiliah sensei,habibah sensei,zaiton sensei,hassan sensei,itou sensei,uno sensei,mizuno sensei...thanks 4 teaching us...minna totemo yokatta da yo!

haha...crita psal kolej lak...smemangnya brtuah sbb ditempatkan di kolej cemara(seksyen 18) sbb di dpan kolej tu je ade 3 kdai mamak...nun jauh sket ade ole-ole "shopping complex" wlaupn hakikatnya shopping building dpan menara condong kt teluk intan lg bgus....+ kfc n mcdonald yg brsebelahan....masjid 3 buah brhampiran (klau waktu solat msuk bleh dgar 3 azan + 1 azan dr kolej) n di dpan kolej akasia (kolej prempuan...haha)...jd dr segi kperluan asas mmg xde mslah....nk tgok epl tiap2 mgu pn bleh dgn melepak kt kedai mamak smbil brfacebook(ade wifi beb!)

jd tu lah sdikit sbanyak crita dr INTEC,shah alam yg boleh dikongsi....mmg sgt best klau diberi pluang study kt sni..wlaupn tgok kampus mmg xubah cm structure bgunan semesti(cme lain colour je)....cme klas ade air-cond la...(tp aku xpenah tdo dlm klas....=p)

lpas ni crita dr nihon bakal myusul...tp sblm nk brangkat ahad ni...nk gk la update blog special sket...hehe

korekara....masa utk brsedia!

Wassalam...=D

INTEC destinasiku.....

Assalamualaikum....ja...konbanwa!
berjumpa kembali!

(da lme xupdate blog, tgok pnuh sawang..mcm2 jnis makhluk ada dlm blog nh....haha)

sbnrnya xde idea pon nk dcurahkan dlm post nh...apa yg aku tulis smue spontan je...

stelah menerima tawaran Mara (KMB), Petronas (Jepun) dan bank negara (adfp), akhirnya aku memilih Petronas (Jepun) =D

sbbnya simple....aku bercita-cita nk jd engineer....tu jer...n aku mmg merancng utk bkerja utk syrikat petronas after grad nti....jd Allah dh permudahkan jalan aku dgn mngurniakan rezeki biasiswa petronas ke Jepun dalam bidang yg aku cukup minat...mechanical engineering ^_^

24 Mei - sewaktu kawan-kawanku yg lain bru daftar matrik n asasi, aku pula mnuju ke INTEC, Shah Alam...(INTEC singkatan bagi - International Education Center....under UITM)....registration yg pling simple....ade 2 3 taklimat pastu habis orientasi...haha mlangnya...blum smpat mgenali dunia intec esoknya dah stat kelas...cesss

tahun ni ahli PETROPAN (petronas scholars to japan) adalah seramai 4 org (setelah 2 org reject)....aku, Ruiz, Thaneer n Han Yuan....n smuanya 'hero' n amek bdang yg sme....x sperti kebiasaan...skurangnya adalah sorg dua pmpuan yg amek economics dhantar ke japan...n utk makluman...petronas xkan hantar rmai student ke japan, x sperti ke Uk or australia....xtau npe...mgkn dsbbkan kos sara hidup yg tggi di japan kot...

bayangkan...elaun di tokyo adalah 138000 yen = rm5000!

n insyaAllah...pathway aku di japan adalah cmni....INTEC (3 bulan) ---Asia Bunka Kaikan (1.5 tahun)---degree....jd aku akan brada di japan slama 5 tahun stgh...lme nye mse...tp rsenye xprepare pape pun lg nk ke sne...haha mgkn sbuk study nihongo....chotto isogashi des yo!

brbalik kpada crita di INTEC....da hmpir 2 bulan kt sni...tanoshi des yo! tanoshi = seronok....wlaupun agk mncabar pd mulanya...sbb xde basic jepun langsung...nmun dr hari ke hari dpat gk ssuaikn dri....nmun bg aku ade problem sket utk sbjek fzik n kmia...yelar brbulan xblajar...bila stat blajar...dhle 2 jam smggu je!
rse xtrmampu nk cover topik yg brlmbak tuh....so...korekara...work hard for it!

jd tu je kot...skadar mgisi laman blog yg lme xbrusik nh...jauh di hati aku brdoa moga2 dipermudahkan jalan aku mnuju kejayaaan...buat rakan2 yg smakin sbuk di mana2 sje..aku doakan korang berjaya...cme nasihat dr aku...don't over give up n sntiasa sabar...klau korang anggap korg blajar sush...ade yg blajar lg sush...aku dah mrasai tekanannya...jd...byk2la brdoa agk kita sume brjaya...insyaAllah

p/s : insyaAllah bakal fly 3 oktober nanti....bg2 siapa2 yg ada klapangan, bolehla datang klia....bolehla kita brjumpa wat kali trakhir sblm brangkat...ada pape psanan n nashat ke...dialu-alukan! haha ja...dewa mata!

Malay's Proud....

Assalamualaikum....

Selamat bersua! Lame dh xupdate blog nih...tp bila fikirkan rasa malas nk update...ntah npe...huhu

Malay's Proud?? apa yang dibanggakan tuh?? mungkin tajuk ini sdikit racist ataupun brsifat prkauman....namun saya tidaklah mnyentuh isi sensitif perkauman..juz nk bangga sbagai orang melayu dan pling utama...bangga sebagai seorang MUSLIM...

Malaysia International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) 2010 team :

1)Tham Ying Hong — SMJK Katholik, Selangor
2)Joshua Lim Kai Tsen — SMK Tinggi St. David, Melaka
3)Muhammad Aqil bin Kamarudin — Kolej MARA Seremban, NS
4)Muhammad Faiz bin Zulbadli — Kolej Yayasan UEM, Perak
5)How Si Yu — SMK USJ 12, Selangor
6)How Si Wei — SMK USJ 12, Selangor

Problem 1 : 7/7
Problem 2 : 0/7
Problem 3 : 0/7
Problem 4 : 0/7
Problem 5 : 0/7
Problem 6 : 0/7

anda hanya mndpat markah pnuh utk soalan prtama (yg laen smue zero!)..nmun anda layak utk mndpat Honourable Mention...utk menjdi sorang yg berjaya dlm IMO mmerlukan ilmu yg luas dlam bidang matematik, kepakaran myelesaikan masalah dan cara berfikir yg luar biasa...rekod trbaik bg Malaysia adalah pingat perak...Malaysia blom mncapai taraf pingat emas utk prtandingan ini...

haha...citer byk psl IMO lak...lari tajuk....sbnarnya dua org melayu tersebut (Aqil n Faiz) aku kenal smasa kem olimpiad di Semesti...yg diconduct oleh Suhaimi Ramly (ketua kontinjen IMO n pmnang gangsa IMO 1999)...dan sudah smestinya mereka boleh dikatakan "genius"...dan alhamdulillah berkat usaha gigih diorang...dpat jugak wkil malaysia IMO nih...aku jugak brangan dlu nk wkil malaysia ni tp sbb malas + tiada inisiatif...OMK pon da sangkut...hahaha (teka markah OMK aku bper???)

melalui prtandingan inilah...lahir saintis dan pakar matematik yg terkenal dr seluruh dunia...dan aku brasa sgt sedih sbb Malaysia msih ktingglan dlm prtandingan yg berprestij ni...xseperti ngara jiran seperti Thailand, vietnam, singapore...jika xpcya cuba lihat kputsan 2008...tgok sket kt mne Malysia???

http://www.imo-2008.es/results.html

contoh soalan imo....

Problem 2. Let ABC be a triangle with circumcentre O. The points P and Q are interior points of the sides CA and AB, respectively. Let K, L and M be the midpoints of the segments BP, CQ and PQ, respectively, and let l be the circle passing through K, L and M. Suppose that the line PQ is tangent to the circle l. Prove that OP = OQ.

masa diberi...1 jam.....selamat mencuba!!!!

p/s : masih menunggu result MARA

Secebis pengalaman hidup....

Aku suka pglaman nih....jd spe nk bace...bacelah.....hahahaha

Suhaimi Ramly....MIT class of 2005...major in mathematics.....

Let me reminisce a little about my undergraduate days.

I attended high school at MRSM Jasin, where I met Khairul, Alif and Akmal. After that, I did a prep course at UiTM Section 17 Campus, known as the International Education Centre (INTEC), where I met Iznan. After a year at INTEC, I went abroad to do my undergraduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

MIT is the place where math nerds and hacker kids go to school, or so the stereotype goes. The reality is more complicated; MIT is famous for its engineering and science departments (the most popular major is computer science) but MIT also have decent humanities and arts departments. But stereotypes exist for a reason, and MIT is awash with nerds who can solve triple integrals in their head, and dweebs who think that staying up all-night coding in assembly language is more fun than frat parties. MIT students and administrators try too hard to suppress their nerdy side, giving out shiny, colorful pamphlets to potential students showcasing our “diverse”, “lively”, and “vibrant” student body. Yes, MIT have its share of archetypical college types, the Euro-Asian girl with a Ukranian father and a Korean mother, who lived in Senegal and Paraguay, who shaves her head for charity and wears goth fashion, who double-majors in Nuclear Engineering and Anthropology, who spends her summer break trekking Himalaya, who listens to emo rock and plays intramural curling (you get the idea). All those pretensions aside, MIT is a big place for big nerds.

I am one of the math nerds, so I majored in (surprise!) mathematics. At MIT, math majors like to think that people in engineering look up to us. We, symbol-jugglers who think up deep theorems that could never find any use in the real world, did our part by thumbing our collective noses at people who applies knowledge to solve real-life problems. This is just harmless snobbery. The same goes to people in theoretical physics. They pooh-pooh the lower rung of scientists who actually do experiments in a lab. And let’s not talk about them engineers, with their three significant digits and real life approximations. Leave us physicists alone with our spherical cow.

Sometimes math majors are actually useful. This is because every undergraduate has to take freshman calculus and freshman physics, and if you belong to the rare breed who gets admitted to MIT but is no good in math, you can always rely on the math majors to differentiate your inverse trigonometric functions for you.

What struck me when I first arrived there, was how MIT people always put function over form. MIT have shabby buildings compared to the lush, sprawling suburban campuses in Malaysia. The campus is located on the ugly, industrial side of Boston, and there is no place on campus worth taking pictures at. That does not stop tourists from clicking away with MIT buildings as background, to let other people know they have been to MIT.

The hacker culture at MIT is legendary. The is a student group on campus called the Student Information Processing Board (SIPB, pronounced “sip-bee”). According to their official website, SIPB is “MIT’s volunteer student group dedicated to computing”, but really, these are some of the best hackers in the world. The is a (perhaps apocryphal) story about SIPB people hacking government computers at a top secret facility. Truly believable story, if you ask me. I still remember a SIPB guy who is blind, and used a special Braille computer. I can’t even write a single line of code in any programming language, but this guy can *hack* using Braille. “Dedicated to computing”, indeed.

At MIT, there is this really long corridor connecting the east and west sides of campus, and being nerds that we are, the corridor is named the Infinite Corridor. When I first arrived on campus, I stayed temporarily at the west side, and I learned that I have to cross the whole length of Infinite Corridor to get to the math department. I felt that the trip is too long, so to save time on daily commute, I applied for an east campus dorm before semester started. It turned out that the Infinite Corridor is not that long, after you crossed it about four thousand times. Wikipedia told me the Infinite Corridor is 251 meters long.

In terms of politics, the conventional wisdom on campus is left of center, thanks to the East Coast location and the liberal, educated population of the Greater Boston area. Noam Chomsky, famous left wing thinker, is professor emeritus at MIT.

Due to MIT’s proximity to that other school (I can’t remember the name, it starts with an H and rhymes with Barvard), often comparisons are made and good-natured rivalry between the two schools are fostered. However, the rivalry is somewhat mild. MIT can’t match Harvard in sports, so the rivalry is about who has the bigger brains.

MIT student body are constituted somewhat differently from that of Harvard. Because Harvard have the Kennedy School of Government and the Harvard Law School, Harvard tend to attract a higher percentage of “leaderly” types compared to MIT. MIT breed technocrats: people know their technical stuff well. There is a saying (I’m paraphrasing), that MIT people can be very smart, but they’ll end up working with some idiot with a Harvard MBA. People who go from Boston to Washington are usually from Harvard, not MIT. Although MIT have a faculty member who served as the director of CIA.

MIT truly sucks at sport (surprise!). I pity the football team. They don’t have cheerleaders, and nobody goes to see their games. MIT students are not willing to sacrifice precious coding time to watch our proud football team, the Engineers (heh) getting trampled by some hick college team from rural Massachusetts.

One thing I enjoyed at MIT is the view. MIT is situated along the Charles River. The MIT president at the time was Charles Vest. People call him Chuck Vest. Naturally some people call the river Chuck River. During winter time, the river is frozen so people can walk on it. It is said that in the old days, many MIT students fell into the Charles and drowned. That’s why MIT put a requirement that all undergraduates must pass a swim test in order to graduate. During nonwinter months, there are many activities you can do on Charles: yacht, kayak, crew. I tried crew once, and it ended up with my shoulders aching for a few days. Better stick to doing math.

The downside of MIT (and Boston in general) is the winter season. To give you an idea of how bad it is, it snows in *April*. I don’t mind the snow but I hate the windchill which feels just slightly better than locking yourself in a fridge. And I can do without the slippery sidewalks. After some time, I would fall on the sidewalk so many times, that I can take a walk with a girl and fall many times without feeling embarassed at all.

I didn’t drive in Boston because I did not have a license, so I took the subway (known as the “T”) everywhere. The T is not much better than the subway system in KL. In fact some of the stations are dirty and dangerous, and you would find there beggars and creepy old men in trenchcoats. My female friend told me she was flashed at a subway station once. Although Boston is safer compared to, say, Detroit or Chicago, I didn’t go out alone after midnight.

Bostonians are proud of their sports teams, and deservedly so. Boston Red Sox won the World Series 2004, after last winning it in 1918. Some people believe the long winless streak is caused by the “Curse of the Bambino”. As expected, the resulting celebration quickly turned into a riot. If I remember correctly, one student got shot during the riot. The football team is New England Patriots (but really a Boston team), which won the Superbowl in 2001, 2003 and 2004.

Another thing MIT is famous for is the Hacks. Basically, a hack is a cool engineering feat done by anonymous “hackers”, often in the middle of the night, for the public to see and enjoy during daylight. Sometimes hacks require an incredible amount of engineering ingenuity, but the result is worth every effort. Hacks are thought-provoking, funny, and most importantly, do not cause damage to property. You can read more about MIT Hacks at http://hacks.mit.edu/.

I spent four years at MIT, and graduated in 2005 with a degree in mathematics and writing (although I’m not very good at both). I still keep in touch with my college friends, especially those from the Senior Haus and the math department.

Now I miss my MIT. Who wants to go to Boston with me?    =)

MIT : place for professional hackers???
